Apple today released iOS 16.3.1, a minor update for iOS 16. iOS 16.3.1 comes over two weeks after iOS 16.3, an update that added Security Keys for Apple ID and support for the new HomePod.

Update

‌‌iOS 16‌‌‌.3.1 can be obtained on eligible iPhones and iPads via an over-the-air download by navigating to Settings > General > Software Update.

According to Apple's release notes, iOS 16.3.1 consists of multiple bug fixes, which address issues with iCloud and Siri requests for Find My, and further optimizes Crash Detection for the iPhone 14 lineup.

iCloud Settings Fix

The ‌iCloud‌ settings fix may address an issue that could lead to some individuals being unable to enable automatic ‌iCloud‌ backups.

Crash Detection Optimizations

The Crash Detection optimizations likely address ongoing ski resort and amusement park issues. At ski resorts, emergency personnel have received multiple accidental reports, draining resources for actual emergencies. Apple has made numerous optimizations to Crash Detection to attempt to resolve the problem.
